What’s the best music to listen to while working?

As a new study finds that listening to music in the office can increase workers’ productivity, we’d like to know what music you listen to when you need to get focused.
The research, commissioned by MusicWorks, found that 9 out of ten people were more productive when they listened to music while undertaking office tasks.
- Classical music was found to be the most effective for improving accuracy and solving maths problems.
- Pop music was found to improve the speed at which people completed data entry tasks.
- Dance music had a positive impact on the speed and accuracy of proof-reading and spell-checking.
Discussing the research, Neuropsychologist Dr David Lewis said: ‘Music is an incredibly powerful management tool in increasing the efficiency of a workforce. It can exert a highly beneficial influence over employee morale and motivation, helping enhance output and even boosting a company’s bottom line.’
