Egypt: court acquits 51 Tiran, Sanafir protesters

A Misdemeanor court in Cairo has acquitted 51 defendants on charges of illegal protesting on April 25 against an Egyptian-Saudi marine borders demarcation treaty.
The defendants faced charges of protesting without a license and attempts to disturb public peace.
Under the treaty, Egypt handed two Red Sea islands—Tiran and Sanafir to Saudi Arabia, triggering public uproar.
