Angelina Jolie-Brad Pitt in a new film 'By The Sea'

0|Edited by Sandra Saweris

Angelina Jolie Pitt’s next directorial effort By The Sea, in which she stars with husband Brad Pitt, has been given an awards-season release date of November 13 by Universal Pictures.
The drama will face off against some wide openers that weekend: Warner Bros’ mine-disaster pic The 33, Paramount’s horror sequel Rings and Open Road’s Bill Murray-Bruce Willis pic Rock The Kasbah.
Written, directed and produced by the newly last-named Jolie Pitt, By The Sea follows American writer Roland (Pitt) and his wife Vanessa (Jolie Pitt), who arrive in a tranquil and picturesque seaside resort in 1970s France, their marriage in apparent crisis.
As they spend time with fellow travelers, including young newlyweds Lea (Mélanie Laurent) and François (Melvil Poupaud) and village locals Michel (Niels Arestrup) and Patrice (Richard Bohringer), the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives. Her previous film as director, Unbroken, bowed last Christmas and brought in $161.4M worldwide. It told the story of WWII hero and Olympian Louis Zamperini, who died in July 2014 at 95.
