Court sentences 10 to death in Assiut over feud

Assiut criminal court sentenced on Wednesday 10 offenders to death over feudal dispute.

The dispute broke out between Al-Shayba and Al-Awasheer families due to an altercation erupted over ‘a loaf of bread’ in which 11 people were killed.

8 of those defendants were sentenced to death in absentia.

Grand Mufti approved the verdict last November.

The court also sentenced one defendant to 10 years in jail.
